An Update for Main Street Business Alliance Members: 6/15/20

The Board of Trustees of the Main Street Alliance has been working closely with the City of Hackensack to get our Main Street businesses open and recovering. We are pleased to announce that a new ordinance regarding Outdoor Dining has just been approved today by the City Manager and goes into effect on Monday, June 15th. For our restaurants, you can find the following attached for your review:

The Application for the Hackensack Health Department
A Tent Application from the Hackensack Fire Department

If you wish to participate in the Outdoor Dining Program, you must complete the application and return to the Hackensack Health Department at 215 State Street. Please direct any questions to Susan McVeigh, Health Officer at (201) 646-3960 or [email protected].

Please note that the Application requires only one (1) set of plans and the fee has been waived.

The Board of the Main Street Business Alliance is monitoring the Covid-19 situation very carefully. We are in constant contact with local government officials. Our goal is to provide our merchants and property owners the information and support necessary to keep our opened businesses healthy and to get the rest of our Main Street family opened as soon as possible. We are working on a comprehensive marketing program designed to maximize pedestrian traffic as restrictions ease while at the same time sending the message of “Hackensack is on the Rise” through various social media channels.
