Hackensack, NJ – January 5, 2026 – Downtown Hackensack is inviting everyone to enjoy a vibrant new landmark to its growing “Art on Main” district, and it comes with a whole lot of love! Main Street Business Alliance (MSBA) is very pleased to announce the installation of “XO,” a striking six-foot-tall crimson-red sculpture that now stands proudly in Atlantic Street Park behind the Hackensack Performing Arts Center.
Crafted from powder-coated aluminum and designed by artist Chinedu Okigbo, the “X” and “O” come together as a universal symbol of hugs, kisses, unity, and connection. This inspiring symbol will serve as Hackensack’s newest beacon of community pride.
Commissioned by the MSBA, this joyful installation was made possible by a generous gift from Robert, Bryan, and David Hekemian, whose support ensured the full funding of the sculpture’s creation and installation.
